Warning Signs of Cyberbullying

Cyberbullying can have destructive effects on youngsters, both male and female, who are passing through a very emotional and unstable phase of their lives. The following effects of cyberbullying are warning signals and something that parents of tweens, teens, and young adults should watch out for. If any of these things happen, it may be an indication that something fishy is going on, and parents need to be cautious.

  • Your tween or teen starts using a password for her mobile phone or laptop.
  • She never leaves her phone, laptop, or tablet unlocked.
  • She spends more time than usual online.

  • He seems upset while using his phone or laptop and remains upset after his online activities.
  • He withdraws from his routine activities.
  • She doesn’t want to see friends in real life whom she was previously eager to meet.
  • She feels anxiety and depression.
  • Her school/college/university grades are affected due to a loss of focus caused by online bullying.
  • He starts showing signs of loneliness and seems lost about what to do and how to do it.
  • He starts showing signs of being fatigued and sick due to continuous worry and depression.
