Interesting  Activities for Preschoolers

Here are some interesting activities which may help your preschoolers in learning with fun.

Games with Pamphlets and Small Packing Boxes

Wherever you go (school, university, shopping centre, gym, mobile shops, car showroom, etc.), you can grab some pamphlets and let your preschoolers experiment with them. You can also turn such promotional materials into a unique learning source: pamphlets provide a handy source for teaching colours and shapes to your preschoolers.

For example, there are host of pictures, including vegetables, fruits, juices, meat, clothes and other household items, in the promotional books from grocery stores. You can explain these pictures to your children, exposing them to many things that they have not come in touch with until now. Then you can also ask them to cut out and play with pictures of cars, mobiles, food, etc.

Usually pamphlets are made of very high-quality paper, so kids enjoy playing with anything made of it. Some preschoolers make a road with the help of pamphlets and a bridge with small packing boxes, which serves as a delightful roadway for driving their tiny toy cars.

Paper Bag Puppets

There are many paper bags and envelopes at home that can be turned into an interesting puppet show. You can help your child cut and paste to decorate the bags as different cartoon characters or animals. When you’re finished creating, your child can put his or her hand inside the envelope and move it to make the puppet talk. You can also make face masks out of paper bags. These puppets and masks can be used again and again.

Role Playing with Old Shoes and Clothes

Preschoolers love dramatic plays. They will love dressing up and acting like mum and dad while playing. Your old clothes, shoes, handbags, etc. can give role-playing a fantastic and authentic touch. You will find their faces beaming with excitement and joy while trying out different roles while wearing your clothes and accessories.

Messy Games with Water, Paint, and Sand

Preschoolers love to make and then play in a mess. When you have enough free time, you can provide your preschoolers with this particular joy. Let your children play with water but never leave them alone. Water paints can also be fun for children: they can make handprints or you can paint their faces to make them clowns.

Family Tree Activity with Ice Cream Sticks

Your preschooler knows his family and will love making his family tree out of ice cream sticks with your help. You can use a couple of sticks for the tree trunk and paste one stick for each family member. Let your child use water paints to make it look like a real tree.

Kitchen Activities for Preschoolers

Helping you in the kitchen can be great fun for your preschoolers. You can ask them to help you with counting, measuring, stirring, etc. You can build their vocabulary by talking about different things. This is also a great opportunity to encourage them by saying things like, ‘You are a little chef because you can stir better than I do!’

In the kitchen, you can help your child make homemade play dough with plain flour, water, food colouring, and oil. They will love preparing it and then making different shapes with it.
