Sexting-Parents Alert!
Sexting-Parents Alert!
Sexting-Parents Alert! This is a very important topic because parents can help their teens better than anybody else in the world.
Tell your child to block and delete anyone sending sexual texts and images.
Sexting-Parents Alert! This is very important because predators will keep sending messages with sexual content even if your child is not interested in it—this is their trick for trapping someone online. If your children receive unwanted images or messages repeatedly, there is a chance that they will eventually open the message. Teach your children to say a big no to these messages, and tell them that it is okay to block, delete, or un-friend that person if they keep sexting, even if it is someone they know in real life.
Tell your children how their future may be jeopardized by sexting.
In a society like Pakistan, it is important that your children understand that sexting can damage not only their present life but also their future. Tell them that there might be someone in their contacts who would use any objectionable text or picture to blackmail them at their workplace or try to harm them if they gain a good position in society. Sexual messages or images could destroy their married life, too.
Tell them social networking is for social interaction only.
Help your children understand that social media is for social interaction—it shouldn’t involve anything that falls under the category of unsocial and immoral behaviour. It is also necessary that pre-teens and teens understand that everything in their life is not suitable for social media uploading. There should be some moments, feelings, and pictures that shouldn’t be shared on social media platforms.
Tell them that their social media presence is an extension of their real selves.
Sexting-Parents Alert! If children realise this, they may think before sexting. Anything they write, post, or upload will be done with the idea of showing who they really are. In fact, they may even go on a journey of self-improvement.
Safeguard your children in the absence of any help from the government.
Sexting-Parents Alert! In fact, this is probably a parent’s most important duty in this digital age. It becomes even more serious because there is no attempt to inform or help youngsters at the government level, nor are there any laws against cyber crimes.
