A Survival Guide for First-Time Working Moms In Pakistan Part 1
If you are a working woman who will soon be a mom for the first time, life may be miserable for you for at least the first few months. You will be tired to your bones, but nobody else will know this because you will appear happy and well rested. You wake up early in the morning, wear nice, fashionable clothes, and put on make-up, so to anyone who sees you, all seems well. But all may not be well with you as a first-time working moms. Here is a survival guide part 1 for the mom who works 24/7:
1.Interact with other Working Moms!
As a first-time working mom, you will be experiencing so many new things and will likely have difficult moments. Don’t worry—you are not alone. If you look around, you will see many other new moms who are facing the same problems. Interact with them. All women have different ways of tackling the same situation, and there might be another mom whose way of managing things will give you an idea or solution that you can apply to your life. Interaction and communication are the keys to being relaxed.
2. Take Help from Google!
You can join online communities of first-time moms. Or just google how first-time moms survive.
3. Take Healthy Diet !
You are the most important person in your baby’s world and the one who is going to cater to all his or her needs. As a first-time mom, you may tend to ignore your diet because whenever you sit down to have lunch or a snack, your baby calls for your attention. Eat healthy and nutritious food. Create an eating schedule and follow it no matter what happens. Make this your rule of thumb! You need energy to carry on, and you cannot get energy without nutritious food.
Be Cautious of Weight-Gain!
Another reminder about food—your healthy and nutritious diet could be the reason for your weight gain. The post pregnancy diet trend in Pakistan right now is to eat a diet full of fats and carbohydrates. Be cautious with this diet, as it may cause you to gain weight, and plan your diet very carefully so that you can keep yourself going throughout your working hours at home and at office without gaining weight.
Let others Share your Responsibility!
Don’t try to be a superwoman by taking care of all your household chores along with your job and baby. You may be able to pull this off for a few days, but keep in mind that if you opt for such a terrible routine, it will play havoc on your emotional and physical health. Take time and think about what you can do and what you cannot. Share responsibility with others at home because by working, you are sharing their responsibility.
Don’t Compromise your Health for Saving Money!
Women earn either to fulfil financial needs at home or to maintain a good standard of living. Being women, they have the instinct to save a few pennies so that they have something to count on during the hard times of life. This is natural; after all, a working woman sacrifices so many things when she leaves home to earn a living. But saving won’t help if you bring hard times upon yourself by compromising your needs. Therefore, saving money is not recommended for some years or at least for some months. If you try , you may be able to save money but you wont be able to perform all your tasks in a good way.
