Be Careful about Beauty Treatment

Beauty care has always been a woman’s priority no matter which class of society she belongs to. Beauty salons, which have sprung like mushrooms in every corner of our cities, have given Pakistani women access to beauty care. But you need to be very cautious about getting beauty treatments for your hair or skin during your pregnancy.

Hair Dyingbeauty care during pregnancy

If you are fond of getting your hair dyed, make sure you do a patch test (you may not routinely do this) because your skin is sensitive during pregnancy, and the colour you’ve been using for ages may now react to your skin.

If you going for ‘highlights’ or ‘lowlights’, just be careful, as the colour may be different than planned due to different reactions in your hair. The use of strong chemicals is not recommended in pregnancy.

 Quality of Products & Overall Hygiene

Most salons in Pakistan have no standardised hygiene system, so before you get a skin treatment, make sure the salon environment is hygienic and that they use high quality, standard products. Some salons keep good products on the display shelves but use sub-standard products on their clients, which could cause some kind of skin reaction. In order to make sure this doesn’t happen, ask that the product be opened in front of you and check its expiry date too.

Manicure & Pedicurebeauty care during pregnancy

Manicures and pedicures are good during pregnancy and will help you feel relaxed, but the cleanliness of the tools (you can carry your own manicure and pedicure kit) and quality of the product should be carefully watched. Substandard products can cause severe reactions, which will just add to your discomforts.
